Greg has been active on the SBA provincial executive and the CBF executive for Saskatchewan since 1998.
Greg has worked tirelessly thought the years to promote and grow the sport of broomball.
Greg has been the driving force in Saskatchewan in building a working relationship between our association and First Nations in the province. Greg has worked closely with the FSIN to build the broomball structure for the First Nations Winter Games. The last Winter Games in the province, Greg was asked to be the overall event co-coordinator.
On behalf of the SBA, Greg has scheduled and then organized our provincial championships for all ages over the last 14 years.
Greg has worked with our executive to establish our 3 year action plan and established the criteria to allow us to renew the plan every 3 years.
In his time as Executive Director the he worked to establish the SBA Loaner Kit program. This program allows school and other organizations to loan equipment from the SBA to experience the sport of broomball. He worked with the executive to find volunteer instructors that would accompany the kits thus giving even more knowledge of the sport to the groups.
Greg also started the publishing of the “Spotlight”; an annual publication that goes to all SBA members. The “Post It Notes” a fall and spring electronic publication followed.
Greg played a huge roll in establishing a Mission and Vision Statement for the SBA as well as an annual “Volunteer Awards Night”.
Greg has been instrumental on behalf of Saskatchewan working with the CBF towards a common rulebook for the game nation wide and other issues on both national and provincial levels.
Greg has coached at the Jr level to assist our younger athletes to reach the elite level.
Greg has always promoted the CBF programs in the province of Saskatchewan. He has been a strong tie between the national and provincial bodies. He believes you need all levels of the sport to be strong in order to survive.
